VIA is committed to getting you where you want to go faster.

Starting August 18, VIA is making route improvements that include shorter wait times to keep San Antonio moving even faster than before. Look for more service improvements coming through the Better Bus plan.

Improves weekday frequency from 60 minutes to 30 minutes, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

9 BROADWAY
Service on the Nacogdoches branch will be moved to Route 10. Improves frequency from 40 minutes to 30 minutes on the Broadway branch, seven days a week.

New Skip route to replace Nacogdoches branch of Route 9. Service will operate every day with a frequency of every 15 minutes from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. and every 30 minutes from 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

Service from Walmart to Randolph Transit Center will be moved to Route 502. Weekday frequency will be improved from every 60 minutes to every 30 minutes from 9 a.m.to 3 p.m.

Route will be extended from Randolph Transit Center along Toepperwein to the Walmart on Crestway — a segment previously served by Route 21.

Improve weekday frequency from 60 minutes to 30 minutes from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Extend route south from Ingram Transit Center to Kel-Lac Transit Center, a segment previously served mostly by Route 618, and discontinue service to Mainland Transfer Point.

Route will be discontinued and most service will move to Route 618.

Improve weekday frequency from 60 minutes to 30 minutes from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. Extend service to Kel-Lac Transit Center by modifying the route to serve Westover Hills and Ellison Drive, continuing a segment previously served by Route 613.

Putting VIA's Better Bus Plan in Motion

VIA’s Better Bus Plan is designed to deliver faster, more direct service on traditional bus routes and expand VIA Link on-demand service by evaluating VIA’s existing services to identify potential changes that could improve our transit system and create more options to get you where you want to go. The Better Bus Plan includes the service improvements listed below that were implemented in April 2025.

14 PERRIN BEITEL Route will be modified southbound to continue on Martin Street to Frio Street and serve Centro Plaza. Northbound the route will travel from Centro Plaza along Travis, Frio, Houston, Medina, Martin, and Pecan streets, then continue regular route.

Route will be modified northbound from Flores Street to Cesar Chavez Boulevard, Frio, Houston, Medina, and Travis streets, to serve Centro Plaza. Southbound the route will travel from Centro Plaza along Frio Street to Cesar Chavez Boulevard, Flores Street, then continue regular route.
