City of San Antonio
San Antonio, the seventh largest city in the U.S. with nearly 1.5 million people, is a vibrant blend of history and modern attractions. Founded in 1718, it’s home to the iconic Alamo, a pivotal site in Texas’ fight for independence. Beyond the Alamo, the River Walk’s 15 miles of pathways wind through the city, lined with restaurants and shops. With millions of visitors annually, San Antonio offers diverse experiences, from theme parks like SeaWorld and Six Flags Fiesta Texas to the cultural treasures of its Spanish colonial past.
Local Organizing Committee
For 40 years, San Antonio Sports has attracted premier sporting events to the Alamo City. As the city’s independent, nonprofit sports commission, San Antonio Sports has been essential in organizing four NCAA® Men’s Final Fours® and three Women’s Final Fours® since 1998, along with numerous other NCAA championships. Since 1984, San Antonio Sports has put San Antonio on the global stage, hosting events that have generated more than $1 billion for the local economy.
