More and more people are turning to public transportation for relief. The American Public Transportation Association (APTA) recently announced that public transportation ridership has increased by nearly 3% in the first nine months of 2006, as Americans took 7.8 billion trips on public transit. Locally, VIA experienced an 11.7% increase. With the rise and subsequent fall of the gas prices many commuters in the San Antonio area tried and stayed on transit.
