Environmental Benefits of the Program

Providing a transit benefit works for the environment, too! Your benefit will encourage more commuters to get out of their cars. For every full VIA bus, there are up to 40 fewer cars on the road using up fuel and emitting noxious gasses, which add to our ozone problem. And, San Antonians can breathe easier knowing VIA’s new buses are environmentally friendly, many of which are propane-powered low emissions vehicles.
