Park and ride available for Fiesta 2012 events

VIA Metropolitan Transit will operate special event park and ride service to and from a number of Fiesta events scheduled for April 20-28, 2012. Service to these celebrations will run on the following schedule:
St. Mary’s Oyster Bake (St. Mary’s University)
Friday, April 20 – 4:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. – Crossroads Park and Ride
Saturday, April 21 – 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. – Crossroads Park and Ride
River Parade (Riverwalk)
Monday, April 23 – 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. – Crossroads Park and Ride, Randolph Boulevard Park and Ride, Madla Transit Center, and Blossom Park and Ride
A Night in Old San Antonio (La Villita)
Tuesday, April 24 through Friday, April 27 – 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. – Crossroads Park and Ride, Randolph Boulevard Park and Ride, Madla Transit Center, and Blossom Park and Ride
Battle of Flowers Parade (Downtown streets)
Friday, April 27 – 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. – Crossroads Park and Ride, Randolph Boulevard Park and Ride, Madla Transit Center, and Blossom Park and Ride
King William Fair (King William Historic District)
Saturday, April 28 – 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. – Crossroads Park and Ride and Madla Transit Center
Fiesta Flambeau Parade (Downtown streets)
Saturday, April 28 – 5:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. – Crossroads Park and Ride, Randolph Boulevard Park and Ride, Madla Transit Center, and Blossom Park and Ride
The special event park and ride fare is $2.50 each way (total of $5.00 roundtrip) with a discount fare available to children, seniors, Medicare recipients, and students. VIAtrans customers and children under five years of age ride free. VIA’s passes are not valid for this service.
VIAtrans service will also be available to Fiesta for registered patrons. The usual VIAtrans reservation policies apply.
As a special promotion, organizers of the Oyster Bake are offering free soft drinks to people who use park and ride service. Any one who rides VIA’s park and ride service to St. Mary’s University on April 20 and 21 will receive a coupon for one free soft drink at the Oyster Bake.
