Video contest urges riders to share transit stories

VIA Metropolitan Transit is holding its first online video contest to encourage transit users to share their experiences riding the bus.
The “My Ride” Video Contest allows participants to upload their VIA-related videos to their favorite hosting website for a chance to win an Apple iPad or a $500 gift card. VIA is looking for stories that can be told in about two minutes of video about how and why people ride the bus.
Entries for this contest will be accepted through September 23. Then, beginning September 24 and running through October 3, viewers can vote for their favorite videos online, and the contest winner will be selected based on a combination of online votes and scores from a panel of judges. The winning entry will then be announced October 6, 2010.
