Park and ride service available to Folklife Festival

VIA Metropolitan Transit will operate special event park and ride service for the upcoming Texas Folklife Festival June 11-13, 2010.
Park and ride service to the festival at the Institute of Texan Cultures will be provided from the Crossroads Park and Ride, the Randolph Boulevard Park and Ride, the Blossom Athletic Center, and the Madla Transit Center. Buses will run according to the following schedule:
Friday, June 11 – 4:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Saturday, June 12 – 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Sunday, June 13 – 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The special event park and ride fare is $2.50 each way (total of $5.00 roundtrip) with a discount fare available to children, seniors, Medicare recipients, and students. VIAtrans customers and children under five years of age ride free. VIA’s passes are not valid for this service.
Visitors to the Folklife Festival can also park free at the Ellis Alley Park and Ride when they ride the Yellow Streetcar. The fare is $1.10 per trip.
