VIA Metropolitan Transit will hold a public meeting to share information and gather input on the Brooks Transit Center project.
The meeting will be held Tuesday, September 18 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Mission Branch Library, 3134 Roosevelt Avenue.
The Brooks Transit Center will improve mobility between the South Side and the central business district, accommodating the 19,000 daily transit trips currently being made in the area while providing the capacity to handle the needs of future riders. The facility will have an air-conditioned waiting area complete with a customer information center, a ticket sales office, restrooms, and vending machines. Eight full bus bays are planned for the transit center, and space will be available to facilitate a future expansion of bus rapid transit service.
The meeting location is accessible by wheelchair. People who are deaf or hard of hearing may request an interpreter 48 hours prior to the meeting by calling TDD 362-2019 or the Public Affairs office at 362-2222.
