10/29/2009
On Sunday, November 15 the Rock ’n’ Roll San Antonio Marathon will be held in downtown and in the surrounding areas, and all traffic will be barred from the central business district. As such, many of VIA Metropolitan Transit’s routes will be on extensive detours for that morning.
Beginning at 4:00 a.m. on November 15, VIA bus routes that normally run through downtown will be diverted to one of two transfer points on the near West Side and the near East Side. A shuttle will ferry people from the Ellis Alley Park and Ride to Travis Park and to the intersection of Commerce Street and Navarro Street. Most service will resume regular routes at noon, but the south side of downtown will be disrupted until approximately 4:00 p.m.
The routes assigned to the transfer points are as follows:
Commerce Street by Market Square (West Side) 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 14, 17, 20, 21, 24, 25, 26, 28, 30, 32, 34, 36, 42, 43, 44, 46, 51, 62, 64, 66, 67, 68, 75, 76, 77, 79, 82, 88, 89, 90, 91, 92, 94, 96, and 97.
Ellis Alley Park and Ride (East Side) 2, 4, 5, 7, 17, 20, 21, 22, 24, 25, 26, 28, 30, 32, 34, 36, 66,75, 76, 77, 90, 91, and 94.
In addition to the detours listed above, VIA’s Streetcar service will not operate while the race is in progress. For help planning your trips on November 15, please call 362-2020.
