Did you know that riding the bus can help you buy a home? If you ride the bus in
San Antonio you could qualify for added benefits when obtaining a mortgage offered
by San Antonio Federal Credit Union through the San Antonio Smart Commute Initiative.
When you ride the bus instead of driving a car you spend less on your transportation
costs. This program allows you to add a portion of the potential commuting savings
to the qualifying income required for your home loan which could increase your home-buying
power.
As an extra incentive, home buyers under the Smart Commute Initiative receive free
commutes on VIA for one year.
In order to qualify for this program, the home you want to purchase must be in the
Smart Commute Zone.
