Accessible Services
VIA's mission is to provide first class public transportation services for everyone
in our community. Serving our customers with disabilities is a priority for VIA.
For riders with disabilities we offer two basic types of services:
Bus Service
Many of our bus routes and stops are accessible and the number is
growing. Almost all buses offer ramps for easy boardings and audio announcements
inside and outside of the bus provide helpful information. We even offer
Travel
Training programs for new bus riders with disabilities.
VIAtrans Service
For those customers who cannot ride the bus because of a disability,
VIA offers paratransit transportation service. Individuals must apply for this shared-ride
program to determine eligibility.
The Accessible Services Customer Guide contains alot of helpful information you
should know if you are a VIA customer with a disability. For bus service you will
find details on priority seating, bus features, reduced fares, scooter requirements
and much more. The guide also has details on VIAtrans service including eligibility
requirements, usage policies, reservation procedures and important contact phone
